Possession of a controlled substance means you have dominion and control over a small amount of a drug. However it is important to know there is a big difference between which drug you possess. Usually possession charges take place in state court, however in federal court it is much more serious. They deal with larger amounts and you can be charged with distributing, manufacturing and trafficking.
