Under the influence? Not worth the devastating risks
Aside from the devastating effect on so many lives, the potential punishment in our criminal justice system is severe. It is not uncommon in cases of vehicular homicide or vehicular manslaughter to see sentences of twelve or more years, even when the driver had no prior criminal history.
Earlier this week, a bicyclist pleaded guilty to killing an elderly pedestrian who was walking when he was hit by the bicyclist.
So, drive carefully. Do not text while driving, and do not drive if you are under the influence of any substance that impairs your ability to drive safely.
Call someone to get you help. It’s certainly not worth it to risk your future by driving recklessly or while impaired!
