What Should I Do If the FBI Is Investigating Me or Trying to Contact Me?

If the FBI tried to contact you, the most important thing that you need to do is immediately contact an experienced criminal defense attorney. Don't answer any of their questions. Answering their questions can often lead in you providing them the evidence that is gonna build a case against you and likely result in a federal conviction against you. Instead, contact us so that we can advise you on what is the best thing to do next. Unfortunately, a lot of circumstances, if the FBI is investigating you, you will learn of that investigation either by receiving a target letter stating that you are in fact the target all by a letter stating that you are a witness to something. And the alternative, you could be rudely awaken in the middle of the night by agents knocking your door down. In any circumstances in which an FBI agent tries to contact you, our advice would be be courteous to them, but don't answer any of their questions and don't make any other statements. Instead, contact us so that we can best advise you on what is the next best thing for you to do.
